Gifts

At the conclusion of my last lesson with Tabuteau in the summers of 1962 and 1963, he gave me a pen and ink sketch by an artist friend whose name escapes me after so many years. Pictured below are those two artworks with the inscriptions he wrote on the reverse. (If anyone can identify the artist, it would be appreciated.) For my final lesson in the summer of 1964, as a parting gift, Tabuteau wrote a note of remembrance on the reverse of a photograph I had taken of him holding his oboe outside on his balcony (the first entries in the ‘Photographs’ page above).
