Iso Briselli: Audio Interview by Marc Mostovoy

Iso Briselli (1912-2005), as a 12-year old violin prodigy from Europe, came over with his teacher, Carl Flesch, in December of 1924 to study with him at the Curtis Institute of Music during the first year of the school’s existence. Through the rest of the 1920s and into the early 1930s, he went to almost all the Saturday night concerts of the Philadelphia Orchestra.

This interview was taped by Marc Mostovoy on December 16th, 2003, for Laila Storch, who was in the process of writing her biography of Marcel Tabuteau. Briselli described Tabuteau’s playing this way:
